Bike for Riley

For all those who participated in the Underpants Run at Ironman Canada this year, thank you once again. With your help we’ve just given away our first bike of the year to Riley in Calgary, Alberta.

Riley is a great competitive young man who has struggled to keep competing because of the condition of the bike he was using. After almost being disqualified this year from a Kids of Steel race because of his bike, friends and family have rallied to get Riley the equipment he needs so that he can continue in the sport of triathlon. With the amazing contribution from Tri It Multisport store in Calgary, Riley was suited up with helmet, shoes, and pedals.

Bikes for Kids donated a Specialized “Allez” with the help of Barry Mah from Specialized and the generous management and staff of Bow Cycle.

Riley has also been invited to a number of training camps and programs in the Calgary area.

A special thanks to Kim Wedgerfield, who is on the Board of Directors of the Kronos triathlon club, started the fundraising drive for Riley and will be helping Riley pursue his triathlon goals by driving him to events and helping him purchase a wind trainer.

We would also like to thank Mike Bock from the Chinook Half Triathlon Festival for his generous donation to the cause this year and for his help in bringing attention to Riley’s situation.

We will update you soon as we give away another bike this month in Mississauga, Ontario.
